…but not before making some photographic memories!
Living in a military area often means people are coming and going. I have the honor of photographing many military families, but sadly, I don’t always get to keep telling their stories because they move on to the next assignment. That was the case here, but it was especially important to capture their time with some Colorado beauty. So we met up with the intent to shoot big. That is, though scenery is fun and part of many sessions, the focus is typically more up close and personal. But for their memories, they really wanted Colorado with Family, not so much Family with Colorado.
We met up early but as Colorado is wont to do, the sun was shining super bright. I don’t like to shoot in bright sun because it can be very hard for clients to not go blind and for me to get THE shots, but I took on the beautiful day like a champ: Challenge accepted!
The Ahns are a super sweet family, and Little Miss is beyond adorable. She was completely on board with all the posing. Lots of “Cheeeeeese!” Also, in the photo on the right, she is right below the frame. It’s always a tad difficult to get that perfect twosome shot when a little one is hopping about.
That face. Seriously.
If there’s one thing I’m really good at, it’s getting kids and pets to look the other way while Mom and Dad share a moment. Err, that is, I’m sure I was probably trying to get everyone to look at me and I lost them all. Same thing.
As they walked on, I would call her name to get her to look back at me, and she’d say, “Cheeeeeeeese!” Oh. My. Heart.
We had a runner on our hands and she loved when they caught her. Little silly goose!
Only thing you can do to fix a little runner is to toss her in the air. That’ll sure show her!
She is all kinds of adorable and adored…
Bright sun or not, it was a beautiful day to gather with family and gaze upon the glory of that bright blue sky and brilliant colors of late summer.
This last shot is why I rarely put my cameras away until after my clients have left. You just never know…
Ahn Family, I loved meeting you and working with you to capture your final Colorado memories. If you move back, I’ll be here, ready to continue your story.
